McKenzie Friend Support Services
Navigating the family court system can feel overwhelming, especially when you're doing it alone.
As a trauma-informed McKenzie Friend, I provide professional and empathetic support to help you feel more confident and prepared during court proceedings.
Whether you're representing yourself in a child arrangements case, responding to an application, or simply need help understanding the process, I’m here to guide you with kindness and clarity.
I’ll support you in preparing your case, completing relevant court paperwork, liaising with CAFCASS where needed, and attending hearings by your side. While I don’t speak on your behalf in court, I sit with you, take notes, and offer moral and procedural support to help you stay calm, focused, and in control.
My goal is to minimise the emotional impact of the process and ensure that you feel heard, prepared, and supported throughout every stage.
What Is a McKenzie Friend?
A McKenzie Friend is someone who provides support to individuals representing themselves in court.
This role is especially valuable in family court cases, where emotions run high and the legal system can feel confusing or intimidating.
As your McKenzie Friend, I can:
● Sit beside you in court
● Help you organise your documents and paperwork
● Take notes and remind you of key points
● Offer emotional support during hearings
● Help you understand what’s happening and what’s next
● Liaise with CAFCASS on your behalf if necessary
● Support with completing and submitting relevant court applications
I do not provide legal advice or speak in court on your behalf, but I do everything else I can to help you feel grounded and supported.
My background in trauma-informed coaching, safeguarding, and advocacy means I understand how difficult these experiences can be. You’ll never be judged or rushed, only respected, supported, and guided at a pace that suits you.
Why Choose Abi Blake’s Support?
I understand how daunting it can be to face family court, especially when trauma, abuse, or high-stakes child arrangements are involved. My support is always grounded in empathy, professionalism, and lived understanding.
With 18 years in high-pressure industries and extensive training in trauma-informed coaching, safeguarding, and family dynamics, I bring more than practical help, I bring emotional steadiness, advocacy, and insight.
I’ve worked with survivors of domestic abuse, individuals facing coercive control, and those who feel voiceless in a legal system that can often feel cold and procedural. My role is to ensure you are never alone in this process.
When you work with me, you’ll find a trusted companion in court and a calm voice in the chaos. Every story matters, including yours.
